His cuvees are well-structured, ageable, and always charming. La Cuvee du Chat, in particular, shines as an example of what Beaujolais can be, coming from 80 year old vines planted in granite soil. Produced in collaboration with Marie Lapierre, this village level Gamay drinks like a cru Brouilly, with very little SO2 added.
